Fatty Acid Ratios as Parameters to Discriminate Between Normal and Tumoral Cells and Compare Drug Treatments in Cancer Cells

چکیده
The fatty acid (FA) composition of cell membranes represents a metabolic biomarker. However, the FA profile reproducibility in cultures remains significant challenge. In this study, ratios are validated as markers alternative to FA. To goal, samples belonging cancer HeLa cells and normal 3T3 fibroblasts, from various experimental sets, analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography system coupled with photodiode array detector evaporative light scattering (HPLC-DAD/ELSD), among main calculated. Principal component analysis (PCA) separately performed on ratio data indicates similar clustering concerning type. Moreover, scores values t[1] t[2] graphical distances calculated PCA plots measured subjected antitumoral compounds. Last, applied selected lines, obtained conditions, allows discriminate between tumoral cells. results substantiate cell-specific fingerprint, characterized across intra-laboratory useful for characterization, discrimination cells, comparison different drug treatments. Practical Applications: Results study improve knowledge about role fingerprint conditions. characterization specific culture, under standardized can facilitate comparative evaluation sets nutritional, metabolic, pharmacological studies, overcoming differences culture conditions extraction/analytical procedures.

EFFECT OF CARUM CARVI ESSENTIAL OIL NANOEMULSION ON TUBO CANCER CELLS AND L929 NORMAL CELLS AND EVALUATION OF ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY
Background & Aims: Free radicals are one of the causes of cancer. In case of the disease, some cells of the body progress to the surrounding tissues and divide without stopping. The use of natural antioxidants plays a positive role in maintaining the health. Cancer and the presence of free radicals in the body motivated researchers to study substances that may eliminate them. The purpose of thi...
متن کاملExpression pattern of fatty acid-binding proteins in human normal and cancer prostate cells and tissues.
PURPOSE Fatty acid-binding protein (FABP) expression patterns were evaluated as potential markers and therapeutic targets for prostate cancer. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN FABP expression levels were determined by reverse transcription-PCR in cultured prostate normal and tumor cells and in human biopsy samples. Regulation of cellular processes was examined using FABP antisense constructs. RESULTS Pr...
متن کاملChemotherapeutic treatments involving drug resistance and level of normal cells as a criterion of toxicity.
A system of differential equations for the control of tumor cells growth in a cycle nonspecific chemotherapy is presented. Drug resistance and toxicity conveyed through the level of normal cells are taken into account in a class of optimal control problems. Alternative treatments for the exponential tumor growth are set forth for cases where optimal treatments are not available.
متن کاملAtorvastatin Sensitizes Breast and Lung Cancer Cells to Ionizing Radiation
Tumour cells may be resistant to radiotherapy that results in unsuccessful cancer treatment in patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the sensitizing effect of atorvastatin (ATV) on breast cancer (MDA-MB-231) and non-small cell lung cancer (A-549) cells following exposure to ionizing radiation (IR). These cells were treated with ATV and exposed to X-ray at dose 4 Gy. The radiosensitizi...
